LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION TECHNICIANS AND APPRENTICES

This is an introductory role in the landscape installation, and will lead to a rewarding career in the green industry. It is possible to move up into a management role after one season of summer/winter depending upon the individual.

LAWN MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

This full-time position spans from April to November, requiring employees to lift 60 pounds unaided and possess unrestricted upper and lower body mobility for optimal performance.

CONSTRUCTION LANDSCAPE FOREMAN & LEAD MAN

The Landscape Foreman oversees and participates in landscape crew activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting quality standards and client requirements for residential or commercial properties.

Position Type: Full time April through November

Primary duties and responsibilities: This is a leadership role in the landscape installation, and will lead to a rewarding career in the green industry.

  • Contributing to your team through hard work and great attitude, developing your crews skillset in our industry by providing mentorship and leadership to crew members. 
  • Operating tools and machinery such as skid loaders, tractors, dump trucks, mini excavators, tampers, backpack blowers etc. 
  • Working in the outdoors with whatever weather conditions Mother Nature throws at us.

Applicants must have/be:

  • Comfortable with long summer hours outdoors Monday through Friday usually half days on Friday.
  • 7 days/wk availability for winter snow removal
  • A genuine, trustworthy, humble, leader, goal driven person that will contribute to our work environment in a positive way. Ask yourself: “Have I had quite a few issues working with others in the past?”
  • Must be able to lift 80lbs without assistance and have full range of body motion.
  • Class D drivers license.
    • CDL Class A would be greatly preferred and beneficial
  • Candidates must be able to pass a physical and drug test
  • Have a clean criminal and driving record.
  • 1+ years of successful experience managing a crew of installers and job sites
  • Ability to read construction duties and plan jobs

LAWN MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position Type: Full-time from April-November

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds without assistance and have full range of motion in the upper and lower body.
  • Safely operate lawn equipment and tools that include but not limited to mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers rakes, shovels, etc.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles
  • Spring and fall cleanups

  • Property maintenance

CONSTRUCTION LANDSCAPE FOREMAN & LEAD MAN

The Landscape Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating & engaging in the activities of landscape crews in installing and maintaining landscapes for residential or commercial properties. They ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to quality standards and client specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead and direct landscape crews, assigning tasks and providing guidance to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Train new crew members on proper techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Project Management:
  • Plan and schedule daily tasks, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Monitor project progress, track expenses, and report to management as necessary.

Landscape Installation:

  • Partake in & oversee the installation of landscape elements such as plants, trees, shrubs, sod, mulch, irrigation systems, and hardscape features.
  • Ensure that all installations are completed according to design plans, specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Operate and maintain landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other tools.

Maintenance and Care:

  • Inspect landscapes regularly to identify issues such as disease, pests, or irrigation problems, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Monitor plant health and recommend appropriate treatments or replacements as necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that crew members use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations, including proper disposal of waste materials and adherence to pesticide application guidelines.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness among crew members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in landscaping, with a minimum of [X years] in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape installation and maintenance techniques, plant identification, and horticultural practices.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency in operating landscape equipment and tools, including but not limited to mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and irrigation systems.

  • Class A driver’s license.
